Eurool Agricultural Training Centre

The Eurool Agricultural Training Centre is currently being developed through a collaboration between the Galariinbaraay Reconciliation and Renewal Corporation, Healthy Communities Foundation Australia, Charles Sturt University, TAFE and the Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation.

Eurool is a property on the Barwon River a short drive from Collarenebri.  It is a property with rare attributes of cultural value, agricultural potential and physical beauty.  The property is significant to the Aboriginal people of Collarenebri including initiation grounds and fish traps on the river.

A claim for return of the land to the traditional owners was made by the Murray Brothers and the land transferred to the ownership of the Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation.

The parties are working with the Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation to transform the farm into a mix-used farming and training facility to provide young people in Collarenebri, and surrounding communities, with access to work-integrated learning opportunities including University and vocational education.

The land provides an opportunity for the community to reconnect with their traditional country, provide career opportunities for local people, provide training for the next generation and produce affordable fresh food for the local community to improve nutrition and health outcomes.

The development of the project will take a number of years, but the aim is to operate a productive and profitable farm while returning cultural and economic value to the Collarenebri community.
